Recycle Sort

Here’s a great Earth Day party game that can help teach your partygoers about recycling! To play this game, you’ll need a few bags of trash and different recyclables, as well as different bins for the kids to sort the items into. Divide your party guests into two or three teams and give each team a bag of items. On go, one person from each team will grab something out of the bag and sort it into the right bin. Bins should include trash, paper recyclables, glass recyclables, metal recyclables, and plastic recyclables. After about 20 seconds, blow a whistle and allow the next person on the team to sort some items. Continue this until one team has sorted their entire bag of trash.

Trash Dig Scavenger Hunt

To play this fun Earth Day game, you’ll need trash, a sandbox, and digging tools. Before the party, bury different trash items in the sandbox. Make a scavenger list for each of the partygoers that includes the items you’ve buried. Each partygoer will then get to choose a digging tool to use. On go, the party guests will need to dig around in the sand, trying to check off all of the items on their scavenger list. The first person to find everything on the list is the winner. If you have a large guest list, you might want to divide your guests into two or three groups. After each group goes, you’ll want to rebury the trash again.

Pin the Tree on the Yard

This classic party game can be tweaked so that it fits perfectly with your Earth Day theme. Instead of pinning the tail on the donkey, you can print off a poster of a yard. Mark the spot that the tree needs to be planted with an X. Each partygoer will then need to be blindfolded and spun around 3 times. Point them in the right direction and see how close they can plant their tree to the desired spot! Your party guests will love playing this game and they might even go home and plant a real tree in their yard!
