What are the best original TV series ever created, so far? Everyone has at least two or three favorite shows on their “best list.” Am I right? That means there are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of answers to this question. But, let’s try to narrow it down to a few. Here are some of my favorites that have also been way popular!

What Are the Best Original TV Series Ever Created So Far?

The best original TV series always have a character we are all cheering for. You’ll also find plenty of humor intermixed with the drama that leaves your emotions going up and down. The main characters draw you in, so you become a part of their world. You’re sure to feel like you’re right in these shows, check them out!

Friends

The wildly popular sitcom Friends ran for a total of 10 seasons, from September 1994 until May 2004. Winner of one Golden Globe and 68 other awards, Friends revolves around the lives (professional and personal) of six friends who live in Manhattan.

Over the course of 10 years, watch these “20 to 30 Somethings” fight, fall in love, act zany, survive family issues and more. Friends stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer.

Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is a somewhat newer original series that premiered in January 2008. It chronicles the life of Walter White. Bryan Cranston was cast into the role. It aired until September 2013, for a total of 62 exciting episodes.

Walter, who is just diagnosed with lung cancer of the inoperable kind, makes the decision to start cooking and selling meth as a means to secure his family’s future.  Luckily, his experience as a chemistry teacher makes the job a whole lot easier. But, safer is a completely different story!

The X-Files

The X-Files was originally televised on Fox from September 1993 to May 2002, for a total of 202 episodes. In 2016, six more episodes were released.

This blockbuster series follows the lives and work of FBI agents Dana Scully (Gilliam Anderson) and Fox Mulder (David Duchovny), who try to crack unsolved cases that center around the paranormal. Scully, a doctor of medicine, doesn’t necessarily believe in paranormal phenomena. Mulder, on the other hand, is a true believer.

  1. We were big fans of Friends when it was on the air. We like Breaking Bad and one of our other favorites was Dexter.

  2. These are great TV series on your list. Unfortunately, for quite sometimes, I don’t have time anymore to watch any of these due to heavy work loads and travel schedules.

  3. I think the definition of a great show is one that holds up over time. Friends still holds up and watching it over again is still enjoyable. I liked Dexter but I’m not sure I would re-watch it.

  4. Out of these there, I’d vote for Friends while my hubby would vote for the X-Files. He did a binge session a few months back when they were added to Netflix.

  5. I love all the shows in this list, especially breaking bad and friends! They’ve been shows that I’ve binged watched multiple times!

  6. I never really got into any of these shows. I’m a The Walking Dead kinda gal 🙂
