When it comes to post apocalypse movies involving teenagers, Hunger Games usually comes to mind. However there is one series that is giving Hunger Games a run for its money in this division and that is Maze Runner. Trailers for the latest addition to both movies dropped recently. Let’s check out the Scorch Trials Trailer!
While Hunger Games is packed with action it also relies on its characters to develop the story. Maze Runner differs slightly in a good way though. The action scenes only help to drive to story. For those who are unfamiliar with the original Maze Runner movie it involved a young man named Thomas.

The Best Moments of the Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials Trailer
Thomas wakes up in a place called the Glades with no clue how he got there and is surrounded by a maze that changes all the time. By keeping the setting in one place the audience has more time to focus on the individual and how they relate to the big picture. The sequel Scorch Trials blows this whole concept out of proportion. Now instead of just the glade the characters are thrown into the world where they discover just how evil the corporation WICKED is. Also there is a virus called the Flare which causes people to go crazy. Not to mention trying to survive in a wasteland where everyone and everything wants to kill you.

From the few glimpses the trailer gives the viewer, Scorch Trials is going to be action packed. Also Thomas and his friends’ lives will be tried at every turn. Along their journey they will make a few new acquaintances. One new concept in this movie is adults and females. Only one was seen in the first movie and only two females were mentioned. When you put all of these things together you have a recipe for success. The first Maze Runner was a huge hit with all of the new variables Scorch Trials is sure to blow it out of the water.
So what sticks out most about the trailer? The possibilities are endless. WICKED is after these kids because they are immune to the virus for some reason. Thomas seems to be some sort of hero. It was apparent in the first movie that he was different from the rest, but the people living in the Scorch know who he is. Some of these questions may never be answered. One thing is for sure though, Scorch Trials will be a box office success.
We still haven’t caught the first one! They should put in on TV so we can get caught up!
I haven’t read the second book yet but the first one was okay as far as the movie goes. I enjoyed the book a lot though.
How nice! Thanks for sharing the highlights. The movie gets more and more interesting by the second.
I enjoyed the books a lot and can’t wait for the movie! I read these right after The Hunger Games as I wanted more of a similar style. It is a great series though I’m curious how they are going to do the next couple books as movies when the plot gets stranger! (No spoilers!)
