If you watch Pretty Little Liars then you know that the town of Rosewood is filled with some interesting teenagers who constantly need support and guidance from their parents. But Rosewood also seems like a town where the parents are usually nowhere in sight (where are Toby’s parents, for example?). However, some parents are always there when their kid is in need. Here are some of the best parents on Pretty Little Liars.

The Best Parents on Pretty Little Liars

Ashley Marin

Ashley is Hanna’s mother. She’s divorced from Tom, Hannah’s dad. Ashley is the type of mom who would go to any lengths to support her child, including stealing money from a deceased woman. While this is not exactly legal, it shows that the welfare of her child comes first. Hanna has a habit of shoplifting and the last thing her mother wants is for her daughter to have a criminal record. So, what does she do when Hanna is picked up for shoplifting? She sleeps with the detective on the case to ensure the charges against her daughter are dropped. Not the best role model, sure, but she definitely goes above and beyond to keep her kid safe when other parents are off giving lectures while their kids are being stalked!

Wayne Fields

Wayne is Emily’s father, employed as a Lieutenant Colonel with the Pennsylvania National Guard and reveals to his daughter that he has a heart condition. Wayne accepts the fact that his daughter is a lesbian and is slightly more understanding about it all than Emily’s mother. He listens when she needs to talk, he sets the standard for great parenting and he is tolerant and understanding. Wayne is away a lot because of his obligations with the National Guard but when he is home, he is the best dad Emily could ask for.

Pam Fields

Pam is Emily’s mother and even though she may have a fault or two, there is no doubt that Emily is her number one priority. Initially, Pam had a tough time accepting the fact that Emily was a lesbian but she later accepts her daughter for who she is and loves her unconditionally. Pam is one of the most loving and supportive mothers on the show and she has no problem standing up for her daughter when needed.

Ella Montgomery

Ella is Aria and Mike’s mother and is one of the strongest women in Rosewood. She is a woman that has been through a great deal with her ex-husband having an affair with one of his students, among other things. Ella is a teacher at Rosewood High School and always has the best interest of her kids in mind. She is a loving and caring mother who does an amazing job respecting their privacy.

Jill Hastings

My feelings for Spencer’s mom flip back and forth. Sometimes she just seems like she doesn’t get it at all. Other times, though, she’s tender and down-to-earth. One thing’s for sure, she’s fiercely protective of her daughters, and that earns her a spot on the best parents on Pretty Little Liars list. It seems there are no lengths she won’t go to in order to protect them. Is that always a good thing? You be the judge.

Leona Vanderwaal

Leona is Mona’s mother and Mona’s father has never been named, even though it is thought it was the result of a one-night stand. The emotions that she displayed when she found out her daughter was dead were beautiful and painful at the same time. Throughout her entire life, Leona loved Mona with her heart and soul.
