Maze Runner and the upcoming sequel Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials are based off of a hit series of thrilling action novels written by bestselling author James Dashner. Given the enormous slew of fans that are anxiously awaiting the films upcoming release in September, anticipation for the sequel is enormous. As we wait in suspense to learn the secrets of WCKD and this dystopian future, we can’t help but wonder: where have we seen these faces before?

Lead actor of Scorched and Maze Runner’s Dylan O’Brian is well known for his role, co-starring as Stiles since 2011 in the hit MTV television series ‘Teen Wolf’. The Brooklyn actor was in The Internship with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn back in 2013 as well. He started off his career prior to Teen Wolf making original YouTube videos and by 2014, he was cast in Maze Runner and named one of 15 Breakout Stars to watch by Yahoo! Movies that same year.
British actress Kaya Scodalario has been around in some big name blockbusters prior to her being cast as the mysterious and only female in the first Maze Runners installment and now the sequel: Scorch Trials. You might recognize her from Clash of the Titans, Wuthering Heights or Moon (2009). She recently appeared in The Moon and The Sun and is in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean movie, ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ set to be released by Disney for late 2017.

Ki Hong Lee was originally from Seol, South Korea and plays the enigmatic role of Minho in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. After moving to New Zealand with his family and learning English, he also became relatively well-known for The Standard Prison Experiment and Everything Before Us. He was in Yellow Face and All in All in addition to his numerous other works.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster plays Newt in both the Maze Runner movies (Maze Runner and its sequel The Scorch Trial.) The actor originally born of the United Kingdom has an impressive resume having played Jojen Reed in the smash hit HBO series Game of Thrones since 2011. He is well known for voicing Ferb Fletcher in the children’s favorite, a cartoon called Phineas and Ferb on the Disney Channel as well. He may be recognized from Love Actually, Nanny MacPhee, The Last Legion and many more.
I’ve been hearing a good amount about Maze Runner lately. I don’t think I am familiar with the actors from it.
I have also heard a lot about Maze Runner, although I haven’t seen it. I think it is neat that Thomas played Ferb. My kids loved that show!
I still need to catch the first Maze Runner! I hope it comes out on Netflix before the new one is released!
Total confession, I’m so behind on new movies! This looks like a talented cast so I def want to check out both of the Maze Runner movies soon.
