What’s in the Cat’s Hat?

What’s in the hat is one of the easiest Dr Seuss party games for kids based on The Cat in the Hat. Get a nice big hat (you can find Seuss-like hats at just about any party store or in the collage below) filled with a lot of colored ribbons, papers and everything else. Along with these stuffs, also put in a lot of Dr Seuss goodies in the hat. Now, start the music and let each kid pass the hat. As soon as the music stops, the kid with the hat can hunt down goodies and whatever he gets is his reward from the game. In this manner, the kid who manages to stay till the end of the game wins a bigger goodie.

Search for the Whoville clover

This is another fun filled and innovative game for the Dr Seuss party. Here, you simply have to hide the Whoville clover and create a series of clues which will lead your kids to clover. Finally the kid who reaches clover wins the game. Make the game tad more intriguing with some unique theme music and loathsome goodies. The kids who manage to play the game perfectly obeying the given setoff rules, win it along with some goodies.

One Fish, Two Fish Fishing Game

For the basics of this game, check out our DIY Indoor  Ice Fishing activity for kids. Use the tutorial there to create the fish and the poles, but change the colors to red fish and blue fish. Once you have the pieces, put them in a big box and seal the box. Make sure you cut a decent-sized hole in the box for fishing. Now, on each turn, call out “1 fish, red” or “2 fish, blue!” Kids have to fish until they get the right color and number combination!

Put the Hat on the Cat

The absolute easiest of the  Dr Seuss party games is a simple variation on Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Instead, use Cat in the Hat wall decals and make your own paper hats. The goal is to stick the hat on the cat while blindfolded. The child who comes closet wins.

Silly Thinking Game

Dr Suess Party Games

Inspired by the Dr Seuss quote above, this game is full of silly thinking! Call out a category, like “silly animal sounds” and have the kids take turns sharing their favorites. Next, call out “silliest characters in a cartoon” and have kids act out their favorite. Keep going until kids are all sillied out!

Your Doctor Seuss party is sure to be amazing and full of silly fun with these games. Need more ideas? Check out all our party games for kids!
