Finding out that you’re having a baby is one of the most exciting moments of your life. I still remember the exact moment that I found out I was pregnant after six years of trying. Seeing those two lines come up on the pregnancy test was a magical, beautiful experience.
Of course, five minutes later I was buying every book available on pregnancy and raising a baby! I’m a researcher. I like to know everything about a subject, including tips on how to be the best mom possible. I probably bought at least 25 books to prepare me for this little bundle of joy:
Preparing for Motherhood with Walmart & Pampers
While books are great for research, nothing prepares you better than tips from real moms. Did you know that Walmart.com has an awesome section called New Mom Stories and Tips? I love the tips on nutritional guidelines for pregnancy and things to do before your baby arrives. They even have a step-by-step diaper changing guide!
Speaking of Walmart.com, have you checked out their baby registry? It’s fantastic! Walmart makes it so easy to figure out all the things you need when you’re having a baby. When I made my registry for my son, I didn’t have a handy checklist. Do you know, I didn’t even think to put diapers on it? Thankfully my friends and family knew to include them!
You’ll definitely want to add Pampers Swaddlers Super Pack to that list. My son was a preemie. He came home from the hospital at just over 4 pounds. Pampers® Swaddlers in preemie size not only fit right, they’re made of soft materials. That was super important to me, as preemies have such delicate skin.
Just for fun, I created my own baby registry on Walmart.com. It’s been a while since I got to do this, so I was a little overwhelmed by all the new baby products. Thank goodness for the registry checklist!
Funny story: my brother and sister-in-law had their first baby on Christmas Day, 2013. Before she was born, my brother and I were talking about baby registries. He said they weren’t planning to make one, they would just ask for gift cards. I explained to him that people (at least in our family) LOVE the chance to buy cute baby stuff again, so even if he got gift cards, he would still get something specific for the baby. I warned him: if you don’t make a registry, you will end up with 500 receiving blankets!
He had no idea what a receiving blanket is, but decided he didn’t need 500 of them, so he heeded my warning and made a registry. Bottom line: make the registry, otherwise you’ll end up with everything you don’t need and nothing that you DO need! Don’t forget to add those Pampers® Swaddlers!

I’m not surprised you can make such a great registry with Wal-Mart. They have everything!
What a great place to make a registry! Lots of great choices.
It’s great when you can pick out exactly what you need. That picture is precious!
My daughter is pregnant and I’m going to pass along this information to her. I don’t think she’s got a registry going at Walmart yet.
This is really neat! I made one too when I was pregnant a few years ago. I love their products and still use them 🙂
I had gift registries for both of my pregnancies. It helped with not getting doubles for the baby shower.
Big fan of Walmart, this sounds like an amazing thing; will pass this on to friends who are pregnant!
I did not realize that Walmart had a registry available. I must share this news with my sister who’s expecting a little boy in a few months!
I had no idea either, but it makes total sense!
When I was pregnant with my children I had never thought to check out WalMart for a registry. I’m not sure why, to be honest- but Walmarts registry looks wonderful!
Walmart wouldn’t have been my first thought for a baby registry but it sounds perfect considering how many different products they stock! Thanks for sharing.
That is a great place to register. I don’t think they had a baby registry when I was pregnant, but I would totally register there – they have everything.
I am not surprised Walmart would be a great place for a registry, what don’t they have? Although I must admit…I am a Target girl! LOL!!
Walmart really is one of the best places to register when expecting. They truly have everything you could need.
I never bought a book I googled everything. lol I registered on Amazon and Target because we prefer not to shop at Walmart to be honest.
What a great registry guide! I never thought to register at walmart, in fact I didn’t even know they did registries lol! I am going to pin this for reference, thanks for posting such a great resource 🙂
Oh I just love Walmart! Seriously – so many people dislike the place, but it’s my husband and my favourite place to do our weekly shopping.
I just finished up my baby registry at Wal-Mart. I’m having my shower next month for my second (hubby’s first) kiddo. I’m excited.
What an easy to use program. I’m glad Walmart offers this. Gift registries have worked for me in the past.
It is a great idea to have a baby registry. I would have a video baby monitor if i had a baby again.
I totally had my baby registry at walmart! They are great because they let you return things, no questions asked!
Oh my goodness, that baby is so precious. I didn’t even realize Walmart had a baby registry. I’ll definately check it out.
Pampers and Walmart were both go-to’s for me when my guy was little. One had great quality, the other had great prices on the great quality. That’s def. win-win. 😉
We’re still a very happy Pampers family, started with Swaddlers and now we’re onto Cruisers. I love their products.
I used walmart for our registry when we had my first – they had everything we needed!
Having a registry is a great way to make sure you get what the baby needs. We had one but I don’t remember where… 🙂
I have 5 kiddos and never had a baby registry. I wish I would have done that now because I love shopping at Walmart.
I don’t believe I ever registered at Walmart before, but some of my must-haves are swaddling blankets, sleep sacks, and side snap tees. Those are definitely must-haves!
Oh my goodness … four pounds! What a teensy, tiny baby! My heart goes to jelly just thinking about it. My younger daughter was 7lb, 4oz and I thought she was tiny!
Having a baby registry is such a wonderful idea. When my twins were born, we got things we loved and some we didn’t . With this format, you are assured of things you picked out. Love it.
Yes!!!! You seriously cannot ever have enough diapers!!!! Such an important thing to have on your registry!!
My daughter had her first baby 4 months ago and she can agree, there is never enough diapers! She registered online and it worked out so good!
