1. A smores bar is a must!

Anyone can have a smores party that just includes your basic ingredients. Why not kick your party up a level by offering a smores bar? You’ll of course need chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows, but kick things up by offering guests white chocolate, Nutella, shredded coconut, and whipped cream!

2. Don’t forget about games

After eating plenty of s’mores, everyone will have tons of energy to burn off! Outdoor games are a must have during a smores party. Twister, life-sized Jenga, scavenger hunts and even glow in the dark games are bound to be exciting.

3. Provide your guests sparklers

With a s’mores party comes a fire. How else are you going to melt those mallows, after all? Sparklers are a fun way to use the fire for something other than making s’mores. You can find a wide variety of sparklers, including those in the shape of a heart and ones that burn different colors.

4. Outdoor movie!

You don’t have to be indoors or at a cinema to watch a movie. Before the end of your smores party, sit around the fire with blankets and enjoy a movie! You can find plenty of tutorials online for creating an easy and inexpensive outdoor movie screen. I like this tutorial because it gives you a few different options.

5. Lanterns to light the way!

Lanterns are a subtle way to provide some light for your smores party. You can create lanterns using mason jars and flame-less candles. You can also use the jars and add glow in the dark bracelets and even glow in the dark paint to make the lanterns super cool! If you’re not feeling crafty, of course you can also just buy some camping lanterns. The nice thing about those, they’re reusable. That way, if you decide to go camping (or if the power ever goes out), you’ll have light!

  1. Yes. yes and Yes oh and Yes again! haha. I have not thrown a smores party in a while, way back I threw on for a summer reading night with my kiddos. We had some friends over and kids over, was a perfect time. Hoping to throw a party with a bonfire, campfire and smores before schools out this year!

  2. I like these suggestions! I love making s’mores on a campfire at night. Some games that are easy to play in the dark with those lanterns would be perfect.

  3. A smores party sounds awesome. SMOREs always make me think summer nights.

  4. How fun to watch a movie outside. All great ideas, and that group s’mores party picture is rocking awesome. 🙂

  5. I think you covered almost everything. I would probably add some sort of peanut butter option to add to my smore’s but I realize there are people with allergies so would have to be careful with that one.

  6. We love s’mores in our home and this sounds like so much fun! We’ll have to have a s’mores party sometime!
