The song Hymn for Her premiered in episode 1, was written by Jon McLaughlin and performed by Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten). Deacon is playing this song in the hospital for his sister, Beverly O’Connor, who is in a coma, with Scarlett O’Connor entering the room.

Beyond the Sun

The song Beyond the Sun appeared in episode 3, was written by Aaron Espe and Claire Guerreso and performed by Maddie Conrad (Lennon Stella). The song appears on the album titled The Music of Nashville: Season 4, Volume 1. Maddie is recording this song in the episode, but it is played throughout various scenes in the episode, including Rayna James bringing coffee to Deacon Claybourne and Scarlett O’Connor, who is visiting Beverly O’Connor in the hospital.

The song Wild Card premiered in episode 19, was written by Clare Guerreso, Rosi Golan and Daniel Tashian and performed by Maddie Conrad (Lennon Stella). The song appears on the album titled The Music of Nashville: Season 4, Volume 2. Maddie performs this song at the showcase that was set up by Cash Gray, even though just a week before, Cash took out a restraining order against both Rayna and Maddie.
